Blue Diver

Anna Torre

A symbolic human figure caught in the very moment of contact with the sea. “Blue Diver” is a sculpture that merges myth and marine reality: immersion becomes a moment of transformation and rebirth. After observing how central diving is to the life of locals and visitors in Alonissos, Anna Torre chose to portray the diver as an explorer, a being on the edge of change. The body shifts as it touches the sea, becoming almost animal-like. The blue covering the figure evokes both the diver’s wetsuit and the
depths that now embrace him. It is a poetic invitation to observe, cherish, and protect the Mediterranean’s hidden wonders.
